How it works

    Install the phone app

    The ConnectWear companion app runs on your Android phone and asks for the access each feature needs. You choose which ones to turn on.

    Install the watch app

    Get ConnectWear for Apple Watch from the App Store.

    Link them

    The watch and phone connect over Bluetooth. When the watch app is asleep, alerts still arrive as push notifications.

Your data stays on your devices

Your notifications, messages, contacts, photos and health data go straight from your phone to your watch. There's no ConnectWear server and no analytics.

Questions

What do I need?

An Apple Watch with watchOS 10 or later and an Android phone with Android 8.0 or later. The Control Center controls need watchOS 26.

Do I still need an iPhone?

Apple Watch has to be set up with an iPhone, and apps install through it. After that, ConnectWear talks to your Android phone directly over Bluetooth, and the iPhone can stay at home.

Does it work when my phone is in my pocket?

Yes. The watch and phone stay linked over Bluetooth as long as they're in range, like a regular watch and phone.

How does Media on watch work?

Pick a folder on your phone and tap Sync now. The files copy to your watch over your local Wi-Fi or your phone's hotspot, then play offline. Videos are converted on the phone to fit the watch.

Which health data is shared?

Steps, heart rate, workouts and sleep recorded by your watch are written to Health Connect on your phone, so apps that read Health Connect can show them.

Does Ask AI cost anything?

Ask AI uses your own Claude (Anthropic) or Gemini (Google) API key, so any usage is billed by that provider to your account. Your questions go straight from your phone to the provider you choose.
